Oregon Associations Providing Design Continuing Education

These professional associations cater to the the needs of the greater design community seeking professional education.

 

American Society of Interior Designers Oregon Chapter
The Oregon Chapter helps strengthen their members’ knowledge and skills through continuing education programs in subjects that are essential to clients’ needs.

 

International Interior Design Association Oregon Chapter
The Oregon Chapter provides members and guests educational Forums in 10 specialty areas.  Many of these are IDCEC accredited and qualify for continuing education.

 

Northwest Society of Interior Designers
This organization promotes interior design excellence and education by providing resources and knowledge about interior design methods, techniques and ideas for decorating and remodeling home and office improvements.

 

National Kitchen & Bath Association Columbia River Chapter
While NKBA does not support interior design licensing, we encourage designers to take     advantage of their extensive continuing education for kitchen and bath design.  The NKBA offers many opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge and credentials in the industry.

 

Interior Design Society of Portland
The IDS Portland Chapter offers continuing education for interior designers in the
residential, redesign, staging, and decorating industry.

 

Illuminating Engineers Society of Oregon

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) is the recognized technical authority on illumination. IES is a forum for the exchange of ideas and information, and a vehicle for its members' professional development and recognition.

 

American Institute of Architects
While the AIA does not support interior design licensing, we are working with the local chapter to educate them as to the benefits of licensing interior designers to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.  The AIA provides many continuing education courses through partner associations as well as the local chapters.
